Gabriele Leone (1725-1790) Sonate Nr. VI op. 2 (10'30) for mandolin and guitar arr. by Marga Wilden-Hüsgen continuo: Marlo Strauß
level of difficulty: medium to high
The composer shows here again his impressive skills to combine instrumental effects and melodic beauty in an homogeneous unit. In his 1768 in Paris published pedagogical work he taught mandolin techniques. These are processed absolutely demanding in these sonatas. They thus show the incredible development of the art of mandolin playing in the second half of the 18th century.
