This book has been written by two mandolin players from slightly different backgrounds but both with a thorough knowledge of teaching both the mandolin and guitar at many levels. The works in this book are a valuable addition to accessible beginner solo repertoire. They have minimal technical and musical challenges but do introduce the player to learning to control volume and tone as well as introducing simple chords and simple two-part writing. If worked up carefully they should be satisfying solo pieces to play.
