Sternschnuppen (Sohrepad) (Falling stars)
for mandolin solo
The present piece was composed on the occasion of a concert with mandolin given by the dedicatee in Kiev.
August of 2003 with its many falling stars inspired the composer to this work. He says: “In late summer, the stars in the sky are very clear and easy to see. When they seem so mysterious from a great distance and send us their cold light, thoughts and desires awaken. When they fall from the sky, you only have a short moment to make a wish. But you never know if the wish will come true. So the faith and the expectation remain. "
The expressive composition lives from the sound and the imagination of the night sky. Classic and modern mandolin techniques create a sonority in which calm and movement reign at the same time.
An extremely attractive concert piece that is also ideally suited as a lecture piece for young musicians. Age group IV
